A Port Coquitlam, Greater Vancouver-based nonprofit operating in the Tri Cities with over 50 years of service, New View Society supports adults living with mental illness through counseling, housing, employment, and recreational programs. To enhance their mission of fostering recovery and community integration, they partnered with Leap Cloud Solutions to modernize their IT infrastructure, transitioning from outdated systems to a secure, professional setup.

Challenge

When they first hired Leap, New View Society relied on an assortment of second-hand computers which created significant operational and security challenges. These outdated systems posed risks to sensitive client data, fell short of BC Housing cybersecurity standards, and limited staff mobility, hindering social workers and care workers from accessing critical systems across multiple service locations.

• Secured eligibility for funding from BC Housing to modernize their IT infrastructure
• Secured eligibility for the Microsoft Nonprofit Program and annual Azure grants to fund cloud-based solutions.
• Migrated administrative operations to a secure Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Implemented advanced cybersecurity measures, including encryption, two-factor authentication (2FA), and regular security audits, to meet British Columbia healthcare standards as well as BC Housing and Fraser Health requirements
• Deployed a secure, scalable Entra SSO setup for social workers and care workers, enabling secure access to mission-critical systems from any location, at any time
